Introduction: 1. Sometimes the title of this lesson is spoken in exasperation. However, in this lesson, I want to look at God’s word and seek a biblical answer to that question. 2. There are many great portraits of motherhood in Scripture. a. Jochebed & Moses (Exodus 2). b. Mother who appeared before Solomon (I Kings 3). c. Mother of James & John (Matthew 20:20-21). d. Mother of King Lemeul (Proverbs 31). 3. Mother’s Day is often a difficult day for a number of reasons, but I would ask that we look beyond the difficulty and focus on the truth of God’s word.
